Meet the IBPA Board

How long have you been involved with IBPA?

I was a classroom educator who became an author and then a parent education speaker. The issue of bullying was central to the conversation among parents and kids, particularly during the middle school years. I decide to create a software application that would allow kids and teens the ability to report bullying without compromising their own safety. Eventually I found IBPA, first as a vendor and sponsor and then as a board member.

What is your goal for IBPA in the future?

To create a community that welcomes kids, teens, parents and professionals that are working together toward building a culture that supports kindness and acceptance.

What are you most looking forward to at the national conference in Nashville?

Country music of course. Outside of coming to a wonderful venue, Nashville draws folks from across the US. The location is ideal for people in the surrounding states to make the trip by car. Having a diverse group of attendees is certain to keep the conversation fresh.

Who is your role model and why?

A long time friend who passed a few years ago at the ripe old age of 95. Paul, taught me about patience and to put your focus on a few things rather than a laundry list of to-do’s. Finally, his continued attention to joy continues to inspire me today.

If you were stranded on an island, what 3 things would you bring with you?

Suntan lotion, a copy of Peloton magazine and a picture of my family.
