IBPA at the International Conference on Positive Behavior Support

Mary Yoder Holsopple

Board Member, International Bullying Prevention Association

This month, I headed out to the beautiful city of Denver to represent the International Bullying Prevention Association at the 14th International Conference on Positive Behavior Support. On Friday afternoon, I presented a session titled “Best Practices in Bullying Prevention: Is PBS Sufficient?” I also set up an exhibit table to share information about IBPA’s membership as well as details on our upcoming national conference in November. One benefit of having an exhibit table at the conference was the opportunity to connect with other exhibitors, becoming better acquainted with their services and products. I enjoyed seeing familiar faces and making new connections. Something that I found to be particularly enjoyable was visiting with a number of IBPA’s members and past presenters who stopped by to say hello. They were quite appreciative of IBPA’s recently released belief statement. If you have not seen it yet, it is worth checking out. You can find it at ibpaworld.org, under Downloadable Resources on the homepage. (By the way, make sure to explore out our completely revamped website!)  All in all, it was a great opportunity for me to help get the word out about best practices in bullying prevention and the International Bullying Prevention Association. I’m looking forward to my next opportunity to present!
